Who can take this course?
This is one of the courses that is very important in this present age. A lot of teenagers are confused and so many are been misled, some have so much problems they cannot share with anyone while others still are confused about relationship, career and life issues. Resolving these conflicts require the job of a professional adolescent Counselor.
Children have issues too and they seems to be at the receiving end when adults are in crisis, unfortunately, they find it difficult to speak about this. Child counseling aims to help children cope better with their emotions, understand problems, develop necessary coping skills and make positive choices.
During counseling children and teenagers are encouraged to explore and express their feelings through one of many media depending on the child’s individual preference e.g. talking, artwork, telling stories, drama or play.
Child counseling is helpful to:
>> Children who find it difficult to acquire social skills.
>> Children who have experienced loss through family breakdown or bereavement.
>> Children who have experienced abuse.
>> Children with low self esteem, anxiety or depression.
>> Children whose behaviors are potentially life threatening.
If you are passionate about children and teenagers and (or) you are already a practicing counselor who wishes to gain more knowledge, this course will equip you with the necessary technique needed to counsel these teens. Children need all the counsel and support during their developmental stages and Child Counseling requires specialized skills and techniques.

Private Practice
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)
In addition to the accredited certificate given by the Institution, students will also be awarded with CPD certificate. In order to start a private practice as a professional in this field of counseling, candidates are expected to combine this with the Certificate in Counseling course to get Diploma in Child & Adolescent Counseling.
